# Why does xcode take up so much space?

I just installed Xcode and see how much space it takes up. It's not a huge issue but I am curious as to why it does this. Does anybody know>

I had gotten curious about this before as well and found that it has to do with it having the need for multiple libraries (Mac and Windows do not share very much in common, thus the need for more than one library). I found a lot of useful information on how to reduce the space on StackOverflow.com.

That is an older Xcode version but you can navigate from there, I'm sure to find what you need.
