# I've been trying to figure out how to upload to GitHub but haven't yet been able to. Can somebody help me?

GitHub hosts git repositories. You can commit changes to a local repository and then push changes to a remote (GitHub) repository. Local repositories can be initially cloned from GitHub repositories or created locally. If you clone you already have remotes set up, otherwise you must set up remotes by hand before you can push or pull.
