The important features of blockchain include immutability, decentralization, consensus algorithm, and cryptographic security. 
Immutability implies the fact that you cannot change a transaction after it has been registered on the blockchain. 
Decentralization feature of blockchain is the biggest highlight as it ensures control to each and every user over a blockchain network. 
The consensus algorithm is also an integral feature of blockchain as it ensures integrity of the whole network. Consensus ensures that it is impossible to add new transactions to the blockchain without validation from the majority. 
Finally, the use of cryptographic hashes verifies the feature of cryptographic security in blockchain.
