I have used the service since it was Safari Books Online starting over 20 years ago and consider O'Reilly's learning platform to be best-in-class, easy to use and very content rich for those in a wide variety of technology fields. I use the platform several times a week. I find the access to content very effective and regularly read and search textbooks as well as participate in webinar content. I also appreciate the periodic newsletters as a way to understand what is trending. The webinarsin particular attract top tier talent in their respective fields and have changed the way I learn over the past 5 years. I feel I get multiples of value from the yearly subscription cost because of the high quality content and frequency of the courses. They have even integrated with popular AI chatbots through their MCP server. Recently, I've found the AI/ML content to be very helpful to get up to speed and operationalize the technology to help me at work and personally. I have zero issues with the platform. There are certain topics for which the depth of material is lesser (Datacenter technologies and more recently hyperscaler technologies come to mind), however this may be reflective more of the market than O'Reilly. User experience on the site is great.

The technicak sndboxes and integration with certifications are quite well designed and implemented the right way.

The site has a great performance either to read content and attend online events.

Technical support has already helped me in the past to resolve questions about the platform.

I think that the live instruction courses are great, but they are often difficult to schedule into my work week. I know that they are recorded and attendees can watch recordings later, but I don't know if there's a way for someone who cannot be there during the live instruction to catch the recording afterward. I will also say that the Skills Beta pages are hard to find. I understand they might not be prominent since they are in beta. I have been using O'Reilly to read books, and the platform has the largest collection of tech books. I appreciate its ease of use and ease of switching between different sources. You can be reading one book, and if you need to reference another or dig deeper into a topic, the content is just a few clicks away. It's also super easy to go back. There was a new feature called “verifiable skills” or something similar. It can become a good addition to the platform, but for now it does not work well from UX and the content is a bit shallow or just sectioned strangely.
