TrueNAS ist ein kostenloses und quelloffenes Betriebssystem für netzgebundene Speicher (NAS), das von iXsystems produziert wird. TrueNAS hat drei Versionen. TrueNAS CORE ist die kostenlose öffentliche Version, die zuvor als FreeNAS bekannt war. TrueNAS Enterprise ist eine lizenzierte Edition von CORE für Enterprise-Support. TrueNAS CORE basiert auf FreeBSD. TrueNAS SCALE ist eine Linux-Version von TrueNAS, die zusätzliche Funktionen wie Linux-Container und Clustering bietet.

TrueNAS ist ein einheitlicher Speicher, der sich nahtlos in jede Umgebung mit einer Vielzahl von Datei-, Block- oder Objektzugriffsprotokollen integriert. Sie können seine Funktionalität auch mit einer Vielzahl von kostenlosen Plugins erweitern, wie Plex Media Server, NextCloud, Zoneminder-Überwachung und vielen anderen.
