Ein Benutzer zu sein ist einfach, weil man nur SQL kennen muss.  
Für Administratoren ist es auch einfach mit einer benutzerfreundlichen GUI namens Management Console.  
Vertica-Index, genannt Projektion, kann leicht automatisch über ein bereitgestelltes Tool namens Database Designer erstellt werden.  
Darüber hinaus ist in den meisten Fällen, wenn man eine Spalten-Sortierreihenfolge in der CREATE TABLE-Anweisung definiert, die Standardprojektion ausreichend, sodass man keinen Index manuell erstellen muss.
