OLTP ist normalisiert, OLAP ist denormalisierte Datenmodellstruktur. OLTP ist transaktional und wird für Webentwicklung verwendet wegen der Beziehungsintegrität und nicht-redundanter Informationen, klein und schnell.

OLAP enthält Informationen pro Zeiteinheit. Man könnte auch eine Webanwendung auf OLAP aufbauen, aber es wäre soooo langsam. Dass Zeitüberschreitungen beginnen würden aufzutreten.
