Linode is a Cloud Provider focussing on compute (i.e. Virtual Machines) but also provide managed cloud sorage, databases and networking. Use Linode to host you website in multiple different geographic locations in a way that is much less complicated than AWS.

A droplet is an individual VPS server. You can use up to 10 at a time before needing to request more from DO administrators.

Droplets is the term used by DigitalOcean to call their Virtual Private Servers, in other words "A Droplet is a virtual computer that you get on DigitalOcean's cloud"

Compute / Storage instances , they are basically servers but in the Digitalocean cloud not on prem

Droplets are basically the name of their virtual machine offering.

Digital ocean droplets provides scalable computing capacity. Using droplets eliminates your need to invest in hardware up front, so you can develop and deploy applications faster. You can usedroplets to launch as many or as few virtual servers as you need, configure security and networking, and manage storage.

Droplets are scalable virtual machines/compute instances, similar to AWS EC2 and Azure Virtual Machines.
