Question on: YouTube Advertising
[How do I download videos directly from YouTube?](/discussions/12301-how-do-i-download-videos-directly-from-youtube)

I want to be able to download directly any video clip I check on the YouTube page without me using another application

1) It's very simple if you would like to have the YouTube premium you can easily benefit from the downloadable free YouTube videos. It's very convenient to whom have the YouTube application (Or Activated Premium app). 2) However, there is one more way to download. If you are using the YouTube through the browser, just go to browser's search part (put just " ss '' letters after the "www." (web) from the original link and just click the "Enter" button .

If you're not a premium member then their the download option below the video and it will not be stored in you phone gallery but in youtube it will be stored and you can watch it without internet.

Question on: Vimeo
[I have recently seen lot of business people use vimeo than youtube. Is there any specific reason behind this?](/discussions/191-vimeo-vs-youtube)

Vimeo vs Youtube

Youtube will just pop ads in your videos at any given time. Don't know about Vimeo, but youtube is still dominant in the market so I'd still go with them rather than Vimeo.

Answered: Alejandro Cabral on June 25, 2013

Another thing Vimeo does not have is the suggested videos for you to watch once you finish your Youtube video. Some are entirely unrelated to the current video...which could be problematic when using for business - ie. marketing.

Answered: Daniel Lipsy on June 27, 2013

If you are looking to get SEO value out of your videos, I'd definitely go with YouTube. It most definitely gets scraped more by Google, and is more likely to be returned in search results. I rarely see Vimeo videos returned in results (if ever actually). IMO though, Vimeo has a slicker, more sveldt interface.

Answered: Ben Beck on June 28, 2013

Good observation, Ben. Due to the fact that Google is the search engine with greatest market share and it also owns YouTube, that does put YouTube front and center. Even a video search on Google shows a far greater percentage of YouTube videos than any on any other platform.

Answered: Daniel Lipsy on June 29, 2013

YouTube definitely has a larger community and the backing of Google, but Vimeo has a clean, professional look and feel, plus no ads. I guess it depends what you're going for.

Answered: Daniel Johansen on July 11, 2013

The main reason why Vimeo is more professional (or at least that is the common perception) is the Pro plan that enables you to get in-depth insight and store HD quality videos with an all-round clean interface, as opposed to YouTube's layout that favours engagement and social interactions.

Answered: Ben Ellis on February 20, 2014

I see a lot of people making their living off of YouTube. It's not traditional, but they are definitely business people!

Answered: Michael Wheeler on August 14, 2013

Vimeo has the advantage, because you don't need a Google account to view a private Vimeo video. Also, I think Vimeo provides the administrator more control over how they want the video to be presented, and it defaults to showing HD. You can also password protect the video, which is not possible in Youtube. Some would argue the Vimeo embedded video player is better as well.

Answered: Daniel Lipsy on June 25, 2013

Its youtube for visual artists. No home videos.

[What platform provides secure enterprise video hosting?](/discussions/what-platform-provides-secure-enterprise-video-hosting)

Hi all,

Security keeps coming up when video is used for internal training, paid content, or sensitive communications—especially around access control and content protection. To see what teams trust, I checked **G2 rankings for the Video Hosting Software category** with security in mind. Here’s what stands out.

**Top video hosting tools (by G2 Score)**
- [Wistia](https://www.g2.com/products/wistia/reviews): Best for teams that want secure video hosting with role-based access and analytics.
- [Loom](https://www.g2.com/products/atlassian-loom/reviews): Best for teams that want private video sharing with controlled access.
- [Vimeo](https://www.g2.com/products/vimeo/reviews): Best for teams that want enterprise-grade privacy and content controls.
- [Adobe Media Encoder](https://www.g2.com/products/adobe-media-encoder/reviews): Best for teams that want secure encoding before controlled distribution.
- [Gumlet](https://www.g2.com/products/gumlet/reviews): Best for teams that want secure delivery with performance optimization.
- [VdoCipher](https://www.g2.com/products/vdocipher/reviews): Best for teams that want DRM-protected video hosting for enterprise use.

Anyone using these specifically for secure video hosting? I also see DRM and watermarking tools mentioned a lot. Any other tool to include? What’s been your experience?

What security feature matters most, DRM, access control, or watermarking?
