[What is the best theater management software for venue operations and capacity optimization?](/discussions/what-is-the-best-theater-management-software-for-venue-operations-and-capacity-optimization)

What is the best [theater venue management](https://www.g2.com/categories/theater-venue-management) software for venue operations and capacity optimization? Capacity optimization sounds like a single feature until you actually dig into reviews, since it shows up as seating layout flexibility, multi-space scheduling, and reporting that tells you which shows are underselling, three pretty different things.

- [**AudienceView Professional**](https://www.g2.com/products/audienceview-professional/reviews): reviewers describe multiple seating layout options for the same room, including the ability to kill seats for sale so a venue doesn't look empty when a show isn't selling well, though one reviewer noted the killed seats can still display confusingly to patrons online.
- [**ThunderTix**](https://www.g2.com/products/thundertix/reviews): reviewers describe managing capacity by date, ticket type, and performance from one dashboard, which one long-time user credited with cutting hours off their workweek compared to manually double checking every transaction.
- [**Tessitura**](https://www.g2.com/products/tessitura/reviews): reviewers describe a single unified system connecting ticketing, fundraising, and analytics, though more than one reviewer specifically said the reporting tools require technical expertise, which can concentrate operational knowledge in just a few power users.

For anyone actually running day to day venue operations on one of these: did the capacity and seating flexibility hold up once you had multiple show types running in the same space, or did you end up building workarounds for the more unusual configurations?

Capacity optimization reads like one feature, but it's really three jobs owned by three different teams: seat and layout flexibility (box office), multi-space scheduling (operations), and underselling reports (marketing). No platform here is equally strong at all three, so the tool that's great for whoever configures the room can leave a different department flying blind. Worth settling whose capacity problem is the binding one this season before ranking anything, because that's the team the pick should actually serve.

[What options do I have for ticket delivery?](/discussions/ticket-delivery)

Ticket Delivery

All at-home customers receive an email receipt. A print-at-home PDF ticket will be attached if you desire. We support most industry thermal ticket printers if you prefer hard tickets. To learn more, read our ticket printing options guide. A comprehensive Will Call report at the door let’s you use wristband, hand stamps, or other forms of entry.

By default, tickets are delivered electronically via email as soon as the order is processed. Ticket buyers will receive a branded print at home PDF that you may customize with sponsor advertising or your own graphics. The PDF ticket may be disabled if you prefer they only receive an emailed receipt of purchase. In addition, we integrate with thermal ticket printers or receipt/label printers to print tickets on-site. The most popular printer is the Boca Lemur for the traditional 5.5" x 2" ticket with a 1" stub. Pre-print tickets to be given at will call or print tickets on-demand as you sell them from the box office at the event.

Question on: ThunderTix
[Who can access our sales and reports?](/discussions/sales-access)

Sales Access

The primary administrator of the account can grant or restrict access to virtually all parts of the system by setting a user’s “permission levels”.

Answered: Jacob Migdal on November 30, 2016

You and your team will have access to ticket sales and event reports. Create unlimited user logins for each member of your team with customized permissions for what each person can see and do within the platform. Disable the ability to view reports for those that shouldn't have access to financials. For those that are renters of the space, you may provide them access to your account restricted only to their own events. Give them access to their own event sales reports and financials, saving you and your team time from repeatedly downloading event reports leading up to the event. Allow them to pull their own reports as often as desired any time.
