Stock footage websites are galleries of licensed video that can be used in other media for free or for a fee. Stock footage is often used in marketing collateral and news media as a visual supplement to other content. Many [stock photo websites](https://www.g2.com/categories/stock-photos) will also provide stock footage and [stock music](https://www.g2.com/categories/stock-music) as well.

Stock footage websites provide licenses for media use elsewhere. On sites where users are required to pay for stock footage use, websites will either charge per image or a subscription fee. Some stock footage websites will offer free footage in addition to their paid content, but other websites' stock footage is completely free.
