MariaDB server is an open-source relational database management system (RDBMS) that is compatible with MySQL. I'm pretty sure it was a fork of MySQLs codebase. It is designed to be a drop-in replacement for MySQL, providing improved performance, scalability, and reliability. MariaDB is used by many organizations and developers to manage their data, and it is particularly well-suited for web-based applications. It supports a wide range of programming languages and APIs, making it easy to integrate with different software platforms. I highly recommend it as its often much faster and better than MySQL.
