[What quote to cash consulting firms are best for optimizing revenue recognition and sales processes?](/discussions/what-quote-to-cash-consulting-firms-are-best-for-optimizing-revenue-recognition-and-sales-processes)

I've been mapping out [quote to cash consulting](https://www.g2.com/categories/quote-to-cash-consulting) firms for a team trying to fix both ends of the pipeline at once: messy CPQ configs upstream and revenue recognition that doesn't reconcile cleanly once the deal closes. A handful of firms keep showing up for handling that full stretch instead of just one piece of it.

- [**Simplus**](https://www.g2.com/products/simplus/reviews) (4.7/5, 57 reviews) is my first call for the sales-to-billing handoff. Reviewers describe them advising on industry best practices before configuration even starts, then validating requirements were actually met, which matters when rev rec depends on the CPQ setup being right the first time.
- [**Coastal**](https://www.g2.com/products/coastal/reviews) (5.0/5, 184 reviews) has by far the largest review base here, and clients consistently point to specific consultants who translate Salesforce/CPQ/billing decisions into plain language for non-technical teams.
- [**ATG Consulting**](https://www.g2.com/products/atg-consulting-a-cognizant-company/reviews) (4.6/5, 27 reviews) built its name on CPQ and Billing implementations, with reviewers calling out scope discipline on multi-year projects, useful when rev rec timing issues usually trace back to scope creep.
- [**Spaulding Ridge**](https://www.g2.com/products/spaulding-ridge/reviews) (4.7/5, 43 reviews) covers more of the finance stack around CPQ (Anaplan, OneStream, DocuSign CLM), which helps if recognition work needs to connect to planning tools too.

Start with Simplus or ATG if the CPQ-to-billing handoff is the actual pain point; add Spaulding Ridge if finance systems beyond CPQ are tangled up in it.

Has anyone run one firm across the full sales-to-revenue chain versus splitting CPQ and rev rec work between two vendors? Curious which approach held fewer handoff issues.

The point about running one firm across the full sales-to-revenue chain versus splitting CPQ and rev rec between two vendors is something I keep coming back to. From what I've seen, the handoff risk between two firms tends to show up in the rev rec logic specifically, since the upstream CPQ decisions directly affect how revenue gets recognized and neither vendor fully owns that gap.
