Question on: Grammarly
[How is the readability score in Grammarly calculated? And what does it mean?](/discussions/comment-le-score-de-lisibilite-dans-grammarly-est-il-calcule-et-qu-est-ce-que-cela-signifie)

I am not an English-speaking writer and I mainly write for an English-speaking audience. Does opting for the highest possible readability score really improve the effectiveness of my writing?

it calculates using The Flesch Reading Ease formula The formula is: 206.835 - 1.015 \* (total words/total sentences) - 84.6 \* (total syllables/total words). Shorter sentences and simpler words lead to a higher (better) score.

Answered: Jaydeep Pipaliya on March 27, 2026

Grammarly’s readability score is basically a measure of how easy your text is to read and understand. It’s not just one formula—it combines a few linguistic factors to estimate the level of education someone needs to comfortably read your content.

Question on: Grammarly
[Is Grammarly free for business use?](/discussions/is-grammarly-free-for-business-use)

Is Grammarly free for business use?

For business use, Grammarly provides a premium version called Grammarly Business, which includes advanced features tailored for team collaboration and professional writing needs. The free version might not be sufficient for most business requirements. Therefore, while Grammarly can be used for free, it is not ideal for business purposes without a premium subscription.

Answered: Somya Joshi on August 27, 2024

No, Grammarly's premium features are not available for free for business use. Grammarly offers a separate subscription called Grammarly Business, which is a paid service designed for organizations. Businesses need to purchase Grammarly Business licenses for their employees to access premium features and collaborate on writing projects. However, if you're a small business owner, free version is enough. We have used it to audit content of our website: https://sydneydigitalagency.com.au/

Answered: Farhad Malegam on September 27, 2023

No, Grammarly is not free for business use. The free plan is only for individual personal use. For business use, you need a paid Grammarly Business subscription. It includes team management, centralized billing, advanced security, and admin controls. If you want to use it in a company setting, choose the business plan.

Answered: Aijaz Lone on September 16, 2025
