What is LIMS software?
A laboratory information management system (LIMS), also referred to as LMS (laboratory management system) or LIS (laboratory information system), manages the workflows, administration, finances, and operations of a laboratory. Depending on the needs, research focus, and functionalities of your laboratory, the features of LIMS can look very different between vendor solutions. Additionally, current LIMS software has evolved beyond the initial data collecting and tracking capabilities of the very first LIMS in the ‘80s. Now, LIMS allows labs to standardize workflows and the process of data collection and ensure the proper calibration and operation of lab equipment. With LIMS software, researchers and scientists do not need to manually record or keep track of data for any quality control or audit, shifting their focus from administrative tasks to more valuable work.
Key benefits of LIMS:
Increases productivity and efficiency within a lab by defining workflows and automating standard tasks and record-keeping
Improves compliance efforts and data integrity by reducing the margin of human error
Centralizes and standardizes the storage of sample information for easy access and effective use
Interfaces with standard lab equipment, instruments, and resources
Provides direct or supports third-party integration with billing software to enable accurate and efficient financial management

NLS file can help in the translation so I don't think the configuration to spanish would have much of an issue

Labware is built to support different languages, not just instance specifically but even from within the same instance, with menu’s dialogs and even customized functionality being able to be displayed in multiple languages.
This is most easily achieved if the need is identified upfront, if you have already built, configured and deployed your LIMS, retro fitting multiple language support will take some additional time, but the framework to support the need is part of the core product itself.
Assuming this is work you would like to avoid and want to deploy a current system, or that the question covers multiple applications, there are several challenges to watch out for that I have encountered implementing English language based systems in different countries.
Training is often developed in English, you want to ensure it is delivered in the local language encouraging questions and interactions from day one, preferable by a local resource who will be around after deployment to support the group, i.e. create local experts.
Encourage all entered information to be performed in the native language, regulators worry about individuals trying to document facts outside of their native language, sometimes encouraged in companies where the system spans multiple countries.
Re-enforcement ensure after a few weeks of active usage that the training is followed up with best practices and reminders of what functionality is where and how best to use it.
Quick reference laminated cards are a good way to ensure users don’t forget what a menu term means or where to find a function.
The best practice is to obviously build the system to support multilanguage needs. LabWare is ideally suited to help with this, having deployed in over 120 different countries and with offices world-wide, including LatAm and Spain, we have consultants with the technical and language skills you need to succeed.
