Hotjar has a better set of advanced tools to get a better look at heatmaps and visitor recordings. Where as Google Analytics majorly focuses on all the metrics such as visitor time duration, bounce rate, setting up goals etc. To summarise, Google Analytics is a free tool which will have almost all teh information related to the visitor interaction with your website except for heatmaps. Whereas, hotjar will have heatmaps information which will be helpful for a landing page to run ads to see where users are dropping off.

Session Replay allows you to playback a customer interacting with your site. It's a fully-animated experience that includes every action that a customer takes, along with details about their browser and OS. You can watch it at realtime speed, or up to 8x to "scrub ahead" in a playback. And, you can make your own notes for later to review with other team members.

Session replay is the reproduction of a user’s interactions on a website or web application exactly or as closely as possible to how the user actually experienced it. Session replay transforms captured user events, such as mouse movements, clicks, page visits, scrolling, tapping, etc., into a reproduction that looks like a video of what the user actually did on the site or app.
