The new strategies and technologies required to support this transformation resulted in a new category on G2 for virtual event platforms. Since its launch, that category has experienced exponential growth in products and reviews—and it continues to grow, with 174 products and more than 3,500 reviews as of this writing. The dislike side is consistent across reviews: a real learning curve for new admins that requires actual training time upfront. **BigMarker:** one reviewer said it "automates a lot of stuff... emails, handouts, etc." and that once configured, it's simple day to day. Another praised its interactive tools (chat, polls, Q&A) for keeping attendees engaged. The dislike here is the setup itself, one reviewer described having to build each webinar's settings individually rather than templating them. So the honest framing: Cvent trades a steeper ramp-up for deeper analytics and market presence (it holds the highest G2 Score in the category), while BigMarker trades some initial setup friction for a lighter ongoing lift. Features are easy to compare and mostly converge; what separates the platforms veterans stick with is real-time support and reliability under load, which you can't see in a demo. So rather than a trust ranking, I'd ask other event managers a sharper question: when it broke live, did anyone pick up the phone? That's the reputation that actually matters in this category.
