[Which enterprise mobility management platforms avoid user friction while enforcing security policies for distributed workforces?](/discussions/which-enterprise-mobility-management-platforms-avoid-user-friction-while-enforcing-security-policies-for-distributed-workforces)

Hey G2 users - I've been looking into enterprise mobility management platforms avoiding user friction while enforcing security policies for distributed workforces, and the gap between what IT needs and what employees will tolerate is a real challenge. Getting security right on distributed devices is one thing. Getting employees to actually cooperate with the enrollment and not complain about it is another.

A few from the [enterprise mobility management](https://www.g2.com/categories/enterprise-mobility-management) category that seem to get this balance right:

- [**Iru**](https://www.g2.com/products/iru/reviews) **:** Single lightweight agent that reviewers say is "virtually invisible" to end users, with an out-of-box enrollment experience that feels like a premium onboarding rather than an IT security hurdle.
- [**Jamf**](https://www.g2.com/products/jamf/reviews) **:** Setup Manager handles provisioning automatically so users just click enroll and the device configures itself, with no manual information entry required.
- [**AirDroid Business**](https://www.g2.com/products/airdroid-business/reviews) **:** QR-based enrollment and clean UI that reviewers describe as fast enough for staff to get comfortable with quickly, even without IT hand-holding.
- [**IBM MaaS360**](https://www.g2.com/products/ibm-maas360/reviews) **:** App catalog and self-service capabilities keep routine requests off the IT helpdesk, reducing friction for both users and administrators.

Have you found a way to enforce security policies on distributed devices without triggering constant complaints from employees? Would love to know what the enrollment experience actually looked like on the ground.

The lowest-friction EMM rollouts are usually the ones where security policies are enforced automatically in the background and users only see simple enrollment, clear app access, and minimal interruptions. Zero-touch provisioning, self-service app catalogs, conditional access, and lightweight agents can make the experience feel like normal device setup rather than extra security work.

For distributed teams, I’d also look at how well the platform handles remote troubleshooting, policy updates, and compliance checks without requiring employees to contact IT. The best balance is strong enforcement with very little visible burden on the end user.

[What are the best enterprise mobility management solutions for managing thousands of corporate smartphones and tablets securely?](/discussions/what-are-the-best-enterprise-mobility-management-solutions-for-managing-thousands-of-corporate-smartphones-and-tablets-securely)

I've been trying to figure out the best Enterprise Mobility Management solutions for managing thousands of corporate smartphones and tablets securely and would love input from IT teams who've actually done this at scale. From what I've seen, Jamf, AirDroid Business, and Iru come up most consistently.

Here are the options I've been looking at in the [enterprise mobility management](https://www.g2.com/categories/enterprise-mobility-management) category:

1. [**Jamf**](https://www.g2.com/products/jamf/reviews) **:** The go-to for large Apple fleets, with one admin reportedly managing over 15,000 devices. Zero-touch deployment and strong automation make it scale well, but does it hold up equally for mixed iOS and Android environments?
2. [**AirDroid Business**](https://www.g2.com/products/airdroid-business/reviews) **:** Strong on remote management and device monitoring at scale with QR-based enrollment that cuts setup time significantly. How does it perform when managing thousands of devices simultaneously from one dashboard?
3. [**Iru**](https://www.g2.com/products/iru/reviews) **:** Single lightweight agent that handles MDM, EDR, and compliance in one platform. Reviewers highlight tool consolidation as a major advantage at scale. Does it handle high-volume Android fleets as well as it does Apple?
4. [**Cisco Meraki**](https://www.g2.com/products/cisco-meraki/reviews) **:** Broad network and device management in one ecosystem. For organizations already running Meraki infrastructure, does the MDM layer add meaningful value or feel like an afterthought?
5. [**IBM MaaS360**](https://www.g2.com/products/ibm-maas360/reviews) **:** Centralized policy enforcement across Android, iOS, and Windows with AI-driven compliance monitoring. Reviewers in large enterprises value the visibility into endpoint health. How complex does setup get at the thousands-of-devices scale?
6. [**Microsoft Enterprise Mobility and Security**](https://www.g2.com/products/microsoft-enterprise-mobility-and-security/reviews) **:** Deep integration with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID makes it a natural fit for Microsoft-heavy organizations. Does it compete on pure EMM capability or mostly shine in the Microsoft ecosystem?

For IT teams managing large corporate device fleets: which platform has scaled most reliably, and what would you do differently from the start?

For fleets in the thousands, the best EMM solution is usually the one that makes enrollment, policy enforcement, patching, remote troubleshooting, and compliance reporting repeatable at scale. Zero-touch deployment, automated grouping, role-based policies, and strong visibility into device health matter more than a long feature list.

I’d also evaluate platform fit by device mix. Apple-heavy, Android-heavy, rugged device, and Microsoft-centric environments can have very different requirements, so the most reliable choice is the one that matches your fleet composition and reduces manual work for IT from day one.
