Cybersecurity systems involve many technologies and can be built with various options, but large companies should implement a security information and event management (SIEM) solution to increase overall system security.

[What AEM tools offer transparent per-device licensing so IT teams can scale their endpoint coverage without running into unexpected cost overruns?](/discussions/what-aem-tools-offer-transparent-per-device-licensing-so-it-teams-can-scale-their-endpoint-coverage-without-running-into-unexpected-cost-overruns)

Not a technical question, but probably the one that causes the most friction later. When people ask what [autonomous endpoint management](https://www.g2.com/categories/autonomous-endpoint-management-aem) tools offer transparent per-device licensing, it usually means they’ve already hit a pricing wall while scaling.

Instead of features, I’ve been comparing how these tools behave financially over time:

- [Action1](https://www.g2.com/products/action1/reviews) **:** Starts with a free endpoint tier, then scales in a way that feels predictable.
- [**Atera**](https://www.g2.com/products/atera/reviews) **:** Flips the model entirely by charging per technician instead of per device.
- [**Automox**](https://www.g2.com/products/automox/reviews) **:** Strong platform, but per-device pricing becomes more noticeable as fleets grow.
- [**Splashtop Autonomous Endpoint Management**](https://www.g2.com/products/splashtop-autonomous-endpoint-management/reviews) **:** Easier to understand at a glance, but still tied to feature tiers.

The interesting part is that none of these are “wrong,” just optimized for different growth patterns. For those who’ve scaled past a few hundred endpoints, what ended up hurting more: pricing surprises or feature limitations?

I've seen teams that scaled from around 200 to 800 endpoints last year and the per-device pricing was a real issue nobody had flagged upfront. Atera's technician-based model is the first thing I've seen that actually changes the math rather than just delaying the problem.

[Which autonomous endpoint management platforms eliminate the need for manual patch cycles so IT teams are not spending hours pushing updates across devices?](/discussions/which-autonomous-endpoint-management-platforms-eliminate-the-need-for-manual-patch-cycles-so-it-teams-are-not-spending-hours-pushing-updates-across-devices)

Hey everyone! A quick reality check.

If [autonomous endpoint management](https://www.g2.com/categories/autonomous-endpoint-management-aem) is supposed to eliminate manual patch cycles, why are so many teams still spending hours pushing updates across devices?

I’ve been pulling together examples for a broader write-up, and it feels like “automation” means very different things across tools.

Here’s what I’ve seen so far:

- [**Action1**](https://www.g2.com/products/action1/reviews) **:** Handles patching without needing devices on VPN, which changes how remote fleets are managed.
- [**Automox**](https://www.g2.com/products/automox/reviews) **:** Uses policies tied to vulnerabilities, so patching happens based on risk rather than schedules.
- [**NinjaOne**](https://www.g2.com/products/ninjaone/reviews) **:** Patching sits inside a broader endpoint workflow, which reduces context switching.
- [**Splashtop Autonomous Endpoint Management**](https://www.g2.com/products/splashtop-autonomous-endpoint-management/reviews) **:** Focuses on structured automation through scheduling and centralized execution.
- [**Tanium**](https://www.g2.com/products/tanium/reviews) **:** Built for environments where patching needs to move fast across a large number of endpoints.

What I’m trying to understand is this: At what point does patching actually become “hands-off” instead of just “less painful”?

I keep going back and forth on this one, at what point does patching become genuinely hands-off vs just slightly less manual than it was before?

Question on: Absolute Secure Endpoint
[Group Wiping of Devices](/discussions/group-wiping-of-devices)

I would like to be able to group devices by a defining factor IE service tag and be able to mass wipe devices allowing only 1 Wipe report to be produced with results

Thank you posting your question and I apologize for the delayed response. We are glad you are utilizing our Wipe feature, as it is a powerful tool to remotely remove all sensitive data on devices. With regards to performing a mass wipe on a group of devices, we recommend first uploading a list of devices into a Device Group, then performing a Wipe on all devices in that group. You can export the results of those Wipes through History \> Actions and access the summary under the list of requests. The log files generated for each device can be downloaded individually. We suggest reaching out to our Technical Support team who can walk you through the steps in detail should you have any questions.
