Question on: Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud)

Is there a plan for integrating autocad DWG files into BIM 360, for direct use by Revit?

We would like to be able to link AutoCAD DWG files into Revit, using BIM 360, without the need for additional software (desktop connector).

In the Document Management tab, there is a "Upload Files" button. Upload the AutoCAD file there. You then link it in to the model in BIM 360 Design. In Trevi: Link CAD....choose BIM360 in browser....path to where the CAD file is.

Thanks Bill, but that is dependent on the Desktop Connector. There is no "BIM 360" option for linking CAD files in the file browsing window, until Desktop Connector has been installed (and even then it's buried under the username). I'd like to not need to install/update/maintain additional software on all our computers, just to be able to link in a site survey...

You can insert directly cad(manger links or inset from ribbon ) ,no A360/BIM 360 option is available

How do I solve the nested link visualization problem?

We a large residencial construction company in Brazil and we are running a pilot with B360. As we use a cast in place concrete wall and slab system, we are very modular industrial system. As we link the residencial unit to the story to the building itself, we are having problems visualizing all the links in the B360 docs and design.

Are you having issues visualizing the links that are hosted on BIM360 Docs, in BIM360 or in Revit? Are you uploading or making the files a BIM360 Design Cloud model? Can i choose what format to download files?

various file formats are uploaded to BIM360. the universal format in my opinion, NWD, can always be created, but is not always an option to download as if the file was originally another format. these are esential with subcontractor use within their other programs like revit, AutoCAD, etc..

Files are downloaded in the format in which they exist on BIM 360. If multiple files are downloaded they download as a .zip
