Question on: Lillio (formerly HiMama)
[Is there a way to set up notifications from messages?](/discussions/is-there-a-way-to-set-up-notifications-from-messages)

Hoping to get a notification when a parent messages us on HiMama.

Hi Kortni, Thanks for your question. I'm Dominick, one of the research analysts here at G2. There were recent updates to HiMama's Message Center, which you can look through here: https://help.himama.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006337294-Introducing-the-NEW-Message-Center-. The HiMama product should be giving you notifications for new parent messages by default, but photo comments will appears as a "comment" in your message center. According to HiMama, teachers will see a visual pop-up notification when a new message comes in from a parent but not when a parent responds to a message. That may be why you aren't receiving notifications, and unfortunately I do not know if they plan to update their app to add that feature. If you aren't receiving notifications at all for new parent messages on mobile, though, one solution that may work is to open your phone settings, scroll down until you see HiMama, and click to make sure that you have notification permissions turned on for that app. I hope this helped!

Question on: Tadpoles
[How has Tadpoles made your work experience better or worse?](/discussions/16065-how-has-tadpoles-made-your-work-experience-better-or-worse)

I am always curious to see how others like or dislike using this app.

This system is a great way to know where all children are and teachers are at peak times such as morning, shift change, and evening. When used correctly and ideally, all staff and faculty are able to inform Heads of their whereabouts at the click of a button and simultaneously communicate with all parents effectively the highlights of routine happenings throughout the day (potty times, meals, and whom these are supervised by.) My favorite part is history logging of past messages to keep parents assured all is well or additional notes to be given to assure surveillance and careful overseeing of unusual events, such as mild illnesses, trouble sleeping, or recovery from a new injury for example.

I loved using tadpoles at work. It helped me to remember to record info on daily sheets and helped to remind me when a child needed something. Parents loved getting daily photos and updates. It was easier to do attendance. My only criticism would be to enable the user to select multiple photos to upload at once and provide a way for parents to upload photos to share with the teachers of what the child is doing at home.
