Hi Kayla, a board portal is a centralized platform that allows board administrators to distribute digital board packs and documents to their directors in a secure environment. Board directors would then have an app installed in their devices that is connected to their portal site to be able to safely receive their documents. This then allows them to digitally meet and collaborate with each other, allowing for remote meetings and work. In addition, through their app they have instant access to features that allows them take notes, vote, etc. just like in real life board meetings! Our members are always on Boardpro during our hui, so when motions, amendments, and recommendations are noted, those who made them can be assured that what is written in the minutes, is what they mean. I really like the Action List also. Those who need to action matters or issues, can then be notified straight away, rather than having to rely on memory. The Action workflow feature is often commented on. Often it falls to the administrator/PA/EA to follow up on actions assigned by the board. This can sometimes be an arduous job. Using Action workflows takes the action away from the individual with BoardPro creating the follow-up tasks and them sending regular reminders to the assignee until the action has been completed. Our organisation does not usually record in real time, but this depends on who is taking the minutes. Our main minute taker preferences to take handwritten notes, so types up the minutes following the meeting. Our back up minute taker records directly in to BoardPro during the meeting.
