Shop-Ware will decode the VIN for standard production vehicles built in 1982 or newer. If you need to add a car without a standard VIN, first click on the vertical ellipses in the Vehicle Pane. In the dropdown menu, select Change Vehicle. Then, click it again, and select Enter Vehicle Manually. (If there is not a vehicle on the RO already, you will only need to click once). In the modal that opens, fill in the fields as you like. This will work for classic cars or other special or unusual vehicles. No, shops always control when a customer receives an update from Shop-Ware by using the “Share” button. Why? Because when shops control information, they can review for accuracy and completeness. The only automated emails are the estimate copy and invoice copy emails when a customer's email is present. Even when a customer's email is present, you have the option to opt them out of these communications.
