"Parted Magic has saved my bacon on more than one occasion"
What do you like best about Parted Magic?

The best thing about Parted Magic is that it does what it says it will do. Its not magic. You still need to know what you are doing but, Parted Magic has re-partitioned and formatted drives that other programs just would not do. Instead of disposing of these "problem" drives, they have been going strong for years! We have had problems with drives that transition from LINUX to Windows or vice versa. Parted Magic was able to revive these drives for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Parted Magic?

Being LINUX based, PArted Magic is not the most intuitive program. However, it does fit right in with the LINUX universe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great quick partition manager"
What do you like best about Parted Magic?

Helped me set up linux partition locally and then delete it later on with no data loss on the primary partition Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Parted Magic?

Could be replicated with free/open source tools if the user really wanted to Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An Essential part of your IT Toolkit"
What do you like best about Parted Magic?

Parted Magic has a collection of all the tools that you might require in a LiveISO. Instead of being limited by the speed of the flash drive/CD drive, it runs on RAM, which makes the system very responsive, irrespective of the drive it is initially loaded from. It also has a GUI tool to securely erase SSDs, which is very, very convenient Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Parted Magic?

I do not like that there is no way to automatically update the ISO that you have already flashed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Quality HDD product"
What do you like best about Parted Magic?

The ease of use. I found Parted Magic shorted after it was initially released and I found it to be one of the easiest and safest utilities to adjust hard disk partitions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Parted Magic?

There isn't anything that I didn't like about Parted Magic Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best solutions for partion"
What do you like best about Parted Magic?

As parted editor is a harddrive management system it's the best which allows to resize, copy and move the partions also it helped a lot in shrinking the c drive its really good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Parted Magic?

The one thing that I had to do is you have to boot from cd or flash drives and earlier it was free but now we have to pay something in order to use it otherwise it's good Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Money Saver"
What do you like best about Parted Magic?

When you get the dreaded blue screen of death, this product comes to the rescue! I was almost in tears when I got the death screen because I was not thinking about the "what ifs" that could happen by not backing up my information on a regular basis. To be honest, it was the farthest thing from my mind. I love that the regular Joe Blow can use it without having to pay for an expensive IT guy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Parted Magic?

The updates have been slowing than needed in some instances but when they are dropped, the bug fixes are worth the wait. So I say get that update out as quickly as possible so that customers are sitting there with their thumb up their noses waiting on this to progress. If they are like me, time management is a huge factor because if I can't do it with one product, I'm moving on to something that can. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent Live Linux Operating System"
What do you like best about Parted Magic?

Parted magic has often helped me recover systems and troubleshoot issues with faulty hardware and failing drives.

I appreciate all of the free tools provided to perform various system tasks and the ability to browse the web. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Parted Magic?

Parted Magic used to be totally free software, but now they are requesting a fee to use the software.

While I understand alot of work went into customizing the operating system -- nearly all the software is FOSS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Health disk partitioning manager"
What do you like best about Parted Magic?

Disk management is very imp[ortant when it comes to systematic file storage and this is what Parted Magic has done. It enables the user to erase any unuseful data faster from stored workloads and create space for more important files. Since we deployed it in our offices it has enabled employees to save workloads effectively and transfer data within seconds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Parted Magic?

It confuses first-time users without operational knowledge. The overall performance has been excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for Sanitizing Equipment being sold/dispose of"
What do you like best about Parted Magic?

Its easy to use for all OS platform/models. It provides an efficient way to sanitize hard drives to DOD standard as well as offer additional tools such as system profiler (all system information) of the current machine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Parted Magic?

There is a delay or "waiting period" for partitioning or securely wiping on certain hard drives. Could take up to multiple hours depending on size of hard drive or RPM levels. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
